QUINCY —A new South Shore Health medical center on Hancock Street will open its doors next week amid a regional healthcare expansion by the non-profit and rapid development of Quincy Center.
The $2.7 million medical office, focusing on primary care, will be an expansion of South Shore Medical Center, a piece of the healthcare system’s growing empire, anchored by South Shore Hospital. Located at 1495 Hancock Street, the office is set to open it’s doors Tuesday in the middle of a bustling Quincy Center.
“We’re pleased to join the city,” said South Shore Health interim CEO Rose DiPietro at a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday. “I’m in awe of everything that’s happening… the revitalization of Quincy.”
The new office will offer internal and family medicine, OB/GYN services, specialty care, laboratory testing and radiology. The medical office’s building is also home to the headquarters of local commercial real estate firm, FoxRock Properties and popular Quincy Center restaurant Fat Cat. FoxRock bought the 35,000-square-foot Quincy Center property in 2017 for $4.6 million. The storied building was at one time a bank and a department store.
